	When does the Hurricane season start? Hurricane Season starts June 1st and lasts until November 30th.

Located at Naval Air Station Key West, Florida, Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATF South) conducts detection and monitoring (D&M) operations throughout their Joint Operating Area to facilitate the interdiction of illicit trafficking in support of national and partner nation security.

JIATF South coordinates with the interagency and international partners to illuminate transnational organized crime networks and support interdiction and apprehension by U.S. and Partner Nation law enforcement agencies.

Over the past 30 years, we have changed names a number of times, expanded our joint operations area, grown our workforce five-fold, and added liaison officers from various U.S. and international agencies. However, our core mission--detection and monitoring of illicit trafficking--and our dedication to building trust with partners have remained unchanged.
