Master Chief Kody Fraughton assumed the duties of Command Master Chief for Joint Interagency Task Force South on July 7, 2022. He most recently served as Command Master Chief for Training Center Cape May.

Master Chief Fraughton’s previous assignments include Training Center Cape May, Sector Charleston, CG Incident Management Assist Team, Marine Safety Unit Portland, CGC Kukui, Patrol Forces South West Asia, Station Grays Harbor, Group New Orleans, and CGC Active.

Master Chief Fraughton is a native of Price, Utah and a graduate of the University of Charleston. His academic degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Master's of Strategic Leadership. He is also a graduate of the U. S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy, U. S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, U. S. Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy, the National Defense University’s Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education (SEJPME) Course. The Coast Guard’s Chief Petty Officer Academy, and the Coast Guard’s Senior Enlisted Leadership Course.

Master Chief Fraughton's military awards include one Meritorious Service Medal, four Coast Guard Commendation Medals with the Operational Distinguishing Device, five Coast Guard Achievement Medals with the Operational Distinguishing Device, and other personal and service awards.
